A close examination of Europe’s most polarising figures, Angela Merkel, analysing whether the image of a caring, motherly figure that she seeks to portray is a genuine reflection of her character or, like many politicians, she is in misleading the public. It uses Merkel as a case study, applying the theories from the previous chapter to shed light on possible motivations for her actions whilst in power.
