5. THE GAMIFICATION OF WORK

Humanity is moving away from traditional modes of work and towards an increasingly virtual economy. This chapter argues that, to reduce economic inefficiencies, a more effective way of treating work would be with gamification. A gamified world would have a huge impact on society at large, allowing for more leisure time and instituting a new form of renewable energy. It is argued that gamification would go a long way to reconnecting the severed link between workers and their products, improving mental health and changing the way we perceive our jobs.
